PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Pre CanSkate is designed to teach skaters the fundamentals of Balance, Agility and Control.

The program provides a fun environment with bright colours and age appropriate teaching aids to make every session interesting and entertaining for all participants. In the Pre CanSkate program it is our goal to enable skaters to build confidence and independence by being able to get up on their own and balance without assistance while providing a fun and safe atmosphere for them to learn.

As skaters begin to be able to get up and move without assistance, they will be moved to a more advanced group within the Pre CanSkate program to allow them to progress at their own pace.

It is highly recommended to view your skaters session from the seating area as this will give our coaching staff the skaters full attention. Please remember that no parents are allowed on the ice.

Skaters should wear comfortable/flexible clothing, this will help your skater move freely while learning how to skate. Snow suits are not recommended as they are restricting and very hot.

Summer camp link is provided below for anyone interested in continuing with skating during the summer.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Pre CanSkate Private Lessons are designed to help skaters reach their goals by giving skaters personal attention in conjunction with the group instruction already provided. This program has limited enrollment. Our coaches at the Mariposa School of Skating are National Coach Certified level 1-5 and work with skaters from beginner to World and Olympic level. Lessons through this program are 15 minutes in duration and will be taught by a variety coaches set up by our Co-Ordinator to help your skater sample different coaching styles as well as getting help with different disciplines within skating. Please find the link below if you are interested in purchasing private lessons.

I have been bringing skaters to the Mariposa Seminar for 18 years. Every year is a fabulous experience for both my skaters as well as myself. It never ceases to amaze me how professional everyone is and how willing this team of coaches is to share information to both the skaters as well as the coaches at the seminar.
