"Coming from a small Northern town of 6500 population was a HUGE change for my 13 year old daughter entering her first year of High School in Grade 9. Alisha had decided after doing the summer camp at Mariposa that she would like to try the Co-op program that Mariposa offered with the Innisdale secondary school. With the school so close to the skating rink and security at the rink during certain times I felt that she was in a safe environment for her long days of training. Alisha has had an amazing experience with her co-op program. The teachers at the school were all very supportive and helped Alisha out with the independent work load that comes with the co-op. Alisha also enjoyed ALL the coaches at Mariposa they all encouraged her and were so friendly they quickly made her feel very welcome. Although she was a bit intimidated by the older more experienced skaters, this has also pushed her to try more difficult jumps, by just watching them this has helped her learn more about skating. She has enjoyed the experience so much that she can't wait to return to Mariposa next year. The improvement in 1 year's time in her skating skills is incredible. She has jumped up to a Gold skater being at Mariposa, and with her coaching she's well on her path to be a professional skater. Thank you to everyone at Mariposa that helped turn my jumping bean skater into a real figure skater." Christine Reekie, Skater Mom for Alisha Edington
